a Have you ever wanted to become an NRA Range Safety Officer (RSO)? Well, look no further. Here at Top Shot Maryland, we specialize in teaching experienced shooters how to become incredible NRA Range Safety Officers! We are very patient and will work with you one-on-one showing you exactly what you will need to do to accomplish that goal. 

If you are an experienced shooter looking to expand your knowledge and take responsibility for the safety of fellow shooters this class is for you. This 9-hour Range Safety Officer Course will teach a wide variety of topics including the roles and responsibilities of an RSO; Range Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs); range inspection; range rules; range briefings; emergency procedures; inspections, firearm stoppages and malfunctions. This will all be done while handling a large variety of pistols, rifles, and shotguns!

Students will have the opportunity to demonstrate their organizational and teaching abilities through practical, real-world exercises. Participants will receive an NRA Range Safety Officer book, a Standard Operating Procedures manual, and, at the successful completion of the class, will be able to apply for their NRA Range Safety Officer Certification.

Prerequisites: You must be an experienced shooter, interested in firearms safety, and you must be 21 years old.

The price of the course is $175.00 + $5.38 processing fee = $180.38. Coffee, tea, and water will be provided.
