
This 10-hour course teaches the knowledge, skills and attitude essential to organizing, promoting and teaching NRA’s Basic Pistol Shooting course. The course will cover discipline specific instructor training. Candidate instructors will demonstrate organizational and teaching skills via participation in practical exercises during the course, complete an instructor certification examination, and shoot Level 4. Students will receive the NRA Trainer’s Guide, NRA Pistol Shooting Instructor Candidate Packet and NRA Basic Pistol Shooting course student packet.
Prerequisite: Possession of basic firearm safety and shooting skills is a perquisite for certification as an NRA instructor. Prior to the instructor training, candidates must complete a pre-course questionnaire and demonstrate their firearm background in pre-course assessment exercises, must have taken and passed NRA Basic Pistol and with a Level 4 qualification, and have taken Basic Instructor Training (BIT) within the last 2 years. For those who need to take BIT please contact Eric and let him know. The cost of BIT is $100.
Please bring your handgun, eye protection, ear protection, and 150 rounds of ammunition. Please leave your ammunition in your car.
